heritage of "Wurtsmith Air Force Base" will be forever recorded in the history of the U.S. Air Force. Not only is the base named after a great figure in the history of the USAF, but many of the leaders of today's Air Force proudly boast of accomplishments achieved during tours at Wurtsmith AFB. Those accomplishments, however, could not have been achieved had it not been for the efforts of literally tens of thousands of men and women who contributed by making their own organizations successful.
This section is devoted to showcasing the organizations in which these men and women contributed to that heritage. It is intended to document, not only what they did, but how well they did it.
"Lest We Forget" time-capsule, dedicated November 11th to SAC crew members who gave their lives during the conflict in Southeast Asia.

As you explore this section, reminiscing on the friendships that you made and the work that you did, keep in mind that this is your heritage and should reflect the achievements which make you proud to say... "I served at Wurtsmith Air Force Base".
To that end, if you know of significant events that fill you with pride for serving with a unit stationed at WAFB, or you are aware of an accomplishment such as an award which illustrate the commitment to excellence of your unit, please let me know. I would be happy to include it in the heritage page of your unit.
